Valedictory Speech

Sorry that I broke my promise of posting this. I know that some or most of you will not forgive me while very little of you or none of you will.

But all the same, here it is.

Valedictory Speech

Good day, ladies and gentlemen. It’s a great honor to be here. Before I get started, I would like to take a moment to thank those of you who have helped me get to this podium today, namely the teachers at this wonderful school.

But seriously, aren’t these teachers the best? Give them a round of applause. It’s what they live for (because we know they aren’t in it for the money).

Today is our last day as AIS students. Some of us feel happy, some of sad while the rest of us feel nothing. Personally, I feel sad but we’ve got to get over it. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t miss this school. I’m going to miss a whole lot of things ranging from the beautiful green plants and flowers everywhere to testing how deep rain puddles are with my friends.

Got low grades? Get over it. You and your friend just had a fight? Get over it. You’re always getting bullied? Get over it. Your friend dumped you? Get over it.

You will feel ecstatic, bored, miraculous, spectacular, tired, betrayed, super-tired, exhausted, happy, content, mad or angry. Nothing can stop you from feeling the full range of emotions both great and terrible but, say it with me… GET OVER IT! In fact, hashtag that! Let’s see if we can get it trending by the end of the night.

Congratulations, class of 2015. Live long and prosper!
