The Woman

“Who is a woman?” you might ask.

“Is she someone who obeys the every command of a man?”

“Is she someone who stays at home all day doing housework?”

“Is she a doormat that people walk all over?”

“Is she neglected, abused and bullied?”

“Is she a person who is considered insignificant like during the Victorian-English times?”

“Is she a little puppet that you can toy with an throw away once you’ve gotten tired of it?”

No.

She is none of those things.

She is a human being who has blood running through her veins.

She is the reason for there being more than seven billion people living on Earth as of now.

She is loved, cherished, beautiful, kind and awesome.

She is Cleopatra, Jane AustenHelena Rubinstein, Indira Gandhi, Oprah Winfrey, J.K. RowlingMalala Yousafzai.

She is me.

She is you.

She is a woman. Respect that.

Happy International Women’s Day.
